Clinical Onboarding
All students who complete clinical rotations are required to complete the following trainings. Please email the Program Specialist a screenshot of the results page once you have completed it. You will need to make a 100% on each of the trainings to have it approved.
For the Waco Family Medicine specific trainings, please select “Intern” as the department.
Required Paperwork and Orientation
Before you begin your rotation, please ensure that you have completed your general application. If you have not, you will need to complete it here.
You will need to complete our Preceptorship Packet and Acceptable Use Policy (They are fill & sign documents). You are also required to submit your drivers license, background check, and vaccination records. The following vaccinations are needed.
TB Test
Negative results within the last 12 months.
If student has a positive skin test or has ever had one, they will need to show proof of a normal chest x-ray or a T-Spot blood test.
Tdap
Within the last 10 years or a booster
MMR Vaccine (2)
Varicella (Chicken Pox)
Hepatitis B
Please upload all of these items to the attachment link in the Smartsheet that was sent to you (check your spam folder before reaching out).
After your paperwork is approved, you will need to schedule your orientation with the Program Coordinator. Orientation will occur at your host clinic, 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your first shift. Please schedule your first hours with your preceptor prior to scheduling orientation.
Clinical Training

Please attach screenshot of the results page to the Smartsheet link. You will need to make a 100% on each of the trainings to have it approved.
AHEC Training Video
This training video provides an overview of AHEC, Waco Family Medicine, and student responsibilities during their clinical rotation. Upon completion of this video, you should have a basic understanding of rotation expectations and additional ways to get involved.
HIPPA and Confidentiality Training
Upon completion of this training, please complete the quiz. You must receive a 100% in order to be eligible for placement, rotations or internship.
Suspecting, Identifying, and Reporting Abuse and Neglect
Upon completion of this training, please complete the quiz. You must receive a 100% in order to be eligible for placement, rotations or internship.
Emergency Preparedness
Upon completion of this training, please complete the quiz. You must receive a 100% in order to be eligible for placement, rotations or internship.
