The Careers in Health and Medicine Program (CHAMPS) is a FREE, five-day healthcare summer camp for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in exploring careers in health and medicine. The program provides students with hands-on learning experiences and exposure to real healthcare environments. CHAMPS exists to introduce students to healthcare pathways and provide the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to pursue future education and careers in health and medicine. The program is hosted at Ascension Providence Hospital in partnership with Waco AHEC and Waco Family Medicine. CHAMPs will be accepting 25 High School students to participate this summer. CHAMPS runs from July 20-24, 2026 and is a day camp with lunch provided.
